WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

Menstrual education and gender inclusivity are vital. Around 17% of transgender and non-binary individuals face restroom access challenges based on their gender identity. Additionally, 1 in 4 transgender men and non-binary individuals encounter difficulties accessing appropriate menstrual products. By providing inclusive education and resources, we foster a supportive environment that respects everyone's needs. Together, we break barriers and promote equality in managing menstrual health.

WHAT IS MOONTH?

As a nonprofit organization, we raise awareness and educate young adolescents on menstruation and its effects on their bodies through a friendly and supportive approach to make menstrual education an experience that can be discussed openly without feeling awkward or ashamed.

OUR MISSION

We strive to create a safe environment for any young person who menstruates to be educated on periods.

OUR PURPOSE

We educate young adolescents (10-15 year olds) on menstruation in a fun manner, regardless of their identified gender.

OUR VISION

We envision a world where people are fully educated on menstruation, and it is embraced, not taboo.

BRAND ATTRIBUTES

Empathetic

We understanding and address the concerns that a person who menstruates have in a society where menstruation is stigmatized and seen as taboo.

Honest

We make an effort to embrace periods by sharing and experiences and being transparent with each other.

Diverse

Current education assumes that all who menstruate identify as women and have typically ‘female’ experiences of their periods. We focus on anyone who deals with menstruation, regardless of gender.

BRAND IDENTITY

We recognize how most conversations are heavily gendered, so we focused on creating an experience that could fit with our brand values for anyone who menstruates, regardless of gender.

Our visual identity is a powerful way to reflect that. We designed a visual identity that speaks to everyone, with a brand mark, graphic elements, and color palette that reflect our commitment to embraces menstruation.

THE NAME

We chose the name 'Moonth' for our nonprofit organization to honor the historical connection between menstruation and the moon. It is a play on words, combining 'moon' and 'month' to symbolize the cyclical nature of menstruation.

THE TAGLINE

Our tagline is representative of our brand’s mission in creating a safe and open environment where young teens can have open discussions about menstruation comfortably.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Looking ahead, potential next steps for the Moonth include expanding outreach efforts, collaborating with experts and influencers, developing digital resources, advocating for menstrual equity, and actively seeking community feedback. These steps will help further the project's mission of providing comprehensive menstrual education, breaking stigmas, and empowering individuals.
